A while ago, I posted about dorothy’s red ruby slippers. Here’s a sneak peek. I am still keen to see the Moschino ones. I don’t have a favorite yet.

I’m kind of digging the Tuleh shoes. I think Botkier kind of missed the mark with the sequin and patent leather combo. Jimmy Choo came up with a hot pair, but they don’t necessarily scream “ruby red slippers.” Ditto for Tibi, though I would rock those in a heartbeat.

The sidewalks are amazing! DC has the worst sidewalks in the country, bar none. Though rents may be a bit higher, I will certainly save money on re-heeling my shoes.

I adore Tilda Swinton and Rodarte, so this was love at first sight. I don’t think I would have expected her as a natural choice for Rodarte’s dark fairy chick aesthetic, but it totally works. Her sense of humor, candor and guts are inspirational on so many levels. Hollywood could use a few more role models cut from Tilda’s cloth. Check out Blackbook for the whole spread.

It’s very easy for me to look like a Goth, where very little goes a very long way. It feels more natural for me to wear a tux than a ball gown—that is a kind of transvestism for me. I never had an aspiration to look like a doll, which is fortunate.

I guess glasses are still hot this season!

I’ve hated upon the latest season of Project Runway quite a bit, but I could not be more annoyed that I’ve missed the past THREE episodes. I feel out of touch. My Google Reader has hundreds of unread fashion blog posts. I feel guilty if I do anything other than studying law books or looking for an apartment. I haven’t been to one sample sale nor have I checked the Fashion Week calendar, probably because I don’t yet have a closet or a place to live. Whine whine whine.

To make a long, complex story short, my absence from posting is merely temporary. In the past week and a half I packed up my life in DC, drove a uhaul to New York, moved into a Williamsburg apartment, fought over the lease and got kicked out of my Williamsburg apartment, started law school, moved my belongings into storage, moved onto my dear friend’s couch, and began my search for a permanent place. Once life settles, I will be back in the game.
